Dalai Lama
Making a habit of concern for others' well-being, and spending a few minutes on waking in the morning reflecting on the value of conducting our lives in an ethically disciplined manner, is a good way to start the day no matter what our beliefs or lack of them. The same is true of taking some time at the end of each day to review how successful in this we have been.

I like this one a lot: "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know....And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go." - Dr. SeussWelcome Home - come stay here for while

practice - beauty and the now
Can't remember now where I saw this quote, I liked it though:
"You practice not to reach a goal, but to create beauty. You practice
not for the future, but for a more ecstatic now".

Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche - basic goodness
Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
"We possess what is known as basic goodness. Then we develop an overlay of unnecessary tricks and occupations. We develop little tricks to shield ourselves from being embarrassed or from feeling too painful or naked. Those are habitual tendencies, but they are not fundamental. They are simply temporary habitual tendencies. It's as though you had a building with nice, white, smooth plaster walls. If you can't stand the plain white walls, you might decide to put colorful wallpaper on top of them to cheer yourself up. The habitual tendencies we're talking about here are like the wallpaper that you put on but can be taken off. The paper doesn't go all the way through the wall; it's not that deeply ingrained. It's a veneer of some kind, called habitual tendencies- which have to be renounced, definitely. Seeing the basic goodness in oneself and seeing the sadness of the setting-sun possibilities, one is willing to make some kind of sacrifice. We can take off the wallpaper, take off the veneer." -CTR

Transcendence and embodiment
The feminine is characterized by a natural movement towards down-and-in, in contrast to the masculine orientation of up-and-out. The masculine movement could be called transcendence; the feminine, embodiment.

SPREADING THE RA-RA
Below is the article from Danielle LaPorte's blog whitehottruth.com
SPREADING THE RA-RA,
right now:
There are Tibetan Buddhist monks in a temple in the Himalayas endlessly reciting mantras for the cessation of your suffering and for the flourishing of your happiness.
Someone you haven’t met yet is already dreaming of adoring you.
Someone is writing a book that you will read in the next two years that will change how you look at life.
Nuns in the Alps are in endless vigil, praying for the Holy Spirit to alight the hearts of all of God’s children.
A farmer is looking at his organic crops and whispering, “nourish them.”
Someone wants to kiss you, to hold you, to make tea for you. Someone is willing to lend you money, wants to know what your favourite food is, and treat you to a movie. Someone in your orbit has something immensely valuable to give you — for free.
Something is being invented this year that will change how your generation lives, communicates, heals and passes on.
The next great song is being rehearsed.
Thousands of people are in yoga classes right now intentionally sending light out from their heart chakras and wrapping it around the earth.
Millions of children are assuming that everything is amazing and will always be that way.

Truth in communication - Excuse me or Fuck off?
Missed my Thursday quote - and while it is true I was exhausted from not enough sleep in the last 3 days, and while that could even have contributed to being not resilient enough to stay with: "If you really what to be happy, no one can stop you", those entities like to feed and found their way in and I was drained of all energy: even though it did NOT loose my temper for a sec!
So there, then I make it back to my comp and find this quote, posted by my friend Don Anderson hehehe:
"How many times do I have to say "excuse me" before "get the fuck out of my way" becomes acceptable?"
It does not even apply, but I liked it anyway.
It comes down to what your truth is in the moment, how deeply you are aware of it and how much of it is beneficial to express and how - and what your communication skills are.
Skillful means can't hurt - if you have the chance to learn them, use the opportunity.

Ingrediences for Happiness
I remember this quote from an old refrigerator sticker:
"If you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you"
I took it to mean all this: happiness is caused internally and has everything to do with your attitude, will, intention perseverance and willingness and bottom line: it solely depends on YOU - and just like it says: if you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you.
All action will come from that.
....hm - for some reason, if you consider this for a moment, we're back to attention and presence as essential requirements to actually do this.
